Will this magnetic cable be a part of products in the future ?

I just came across this topic while browsing. Is that intended for the Carbon MKII? It’s definitely a great thing.

Nein, leider. :slightly_frowning_face:

Ja! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello All,

It’s sad to share that we needed to take down the CarbonPort.
We have actually developed the Carbon Port, which in fact become very innovative and patentable.

But we realized that customers like you will be very frustrated if you lose your charging cable and the only way to buy, is only through Carbon Mobile. That might be days without charging your phone.

Also, the regulations in Europe are changing, forcing all smartphone brands to use USB Standard connectors. Even Apple is been dragged into this (they are still fighting on lightning cable I guess).

With the increasing adoption of wireless charging, cables are becoming more obsolete and we are now focusing our attention here for the next generation of our devices.
We would focus on wireless charging, with an accessories system around it.

I already thought it‘s due to the regulations, so focusing on other developments & accessories is a good decision. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Who really needs wireless charging?

 I totally agree with you.
Wireless charging only makes sense in cars.

Well, what do you really need?
I used to have a phone a few years ago, it had a wireless charging. I found it very comfortable in the office, since I usually put it in the charger, it was practically always nearly fully charged. So I never had to worry about the battery status. Unfortunately, the battery management was not very good, so the battery suffered from being often charged in the upper range.
@Stephan
In the car I could do without it, because I don’t take the part in my hand while driving anyway. I don’t need it anyway, because it is connected to the car entertainment. But it would not be disturbing there either.

Naja, was braucht man schon wirklich?
@Stephan
