Hi, I’m Susan and I live in New York. I have had a many year quest for a lightweight smartphone, because I have messed up arms and can’t hold any phone for long. Typically I’m using phones years old because those are the lightest I’ve found… I’ve been waiting a couple of years for my Carbon phone… I just missed by a hair the first round of Carbonizers. You will laugh to hear my current phone is a 2015 Alcatel Idol 3 (4.7)… I’ve had at least 4 of those (I get my phones off of Ebay)… prior to that I was very happy with a Blu Vivo Air (had at least 4 of those)… would have stayed forever with that phone but it stopped working with current carrier technology. Prior to that I had several Palm Pixi’s… again using them long after they were defunct. So for many years every few weeks/months I’ve searched for “lightest smartphone 20XX” (whatever the year)… and I stumbled on the Carbon I Mark II… just after the first round was sold out.
So that is my tale of woe r.e. my long search for a lightweight phone. So the sustainability and high-techness is secondary, but it will be shocking to finally have a brand new technology phone!
I was picked as a founder probably because I am a retired computer programmer (i.e. coder) and have a fair amount of experience testing and such. Plus I’ve always been oriented towards interface design (long before that term existed)… I just care about things working well and intuitively.
So I am very glad that receiving my Carbon phone is finally within sight, pandemic and all.

, I was searching for a different device from a european company where there‘s not much offered yet & this one seemed to be the most interesting to me. So after reflecting a while I decided to get a carbon 1 mkII. To stay more informed l joined this community & with my questions I hope to give some input for brainstorming with good ideas as a result.
